some of you may have heard dec 28th i took a 0 miles per hour fallover @ westpoint,& broke a bone in my left hand,,,so yesterday the surgeon put a littlt metal in to hold bone in place,,,i asked if all went ok ,,he said every thing went great butt he found a small amount of pink material forming around the ends of the bone,,,after much disscusion about this we connclueded although he said it seemed like it was no living tisssue,  it was proably the return of the dreaded german disease PUZZEN NUTZ & this was only after 12 days of not riding,,,so guys be warned about this deadly virsus,,,,ITS BACK,,,,warning signs are telling your buddies, its too cold,,or its too wet,, or west points too far away or im going to the supercross to watch other people ride,,or even possibly its our anniversary,,when everbody knows anniversaries are @ night, when all the reinactments happen,,hopefully after so many years of wedded bliss,,,anyway the ony way to ward off the PUZZEN NUTZ, is a least 15-20 miles of weekly single track according to DR BUBBA m.d.,,so heres my dilema, the dr said i would need 12 weeks of recovery, which will most likely allow the virsus to come back,, know this i tould the dr 6 weeks seemed like plenty,, he saw previous hardware in my wrist & asked how long did i wait till i rode after that major surgery,, itold him my dr said one year till ready i said it was close,,i waited 10 weeks as tuscumbia was calling,,,he felt 12 would be much better,,,,i think may have been exposed to the virsus by mistake when removing it,,,see you folks on the trails hopefully late feb,,,will need gentle riding to get back to shape,,all my gentle buddies stay well,,,,bv 615-746-5975

I did about 6 miles at my place Sunday, 1st time in 10 months, and darn near could not get out of bed Monday morning, and I am still paying the price.

I suffered similar instances of PUZZED NUTZ when I blew up my leg and had to of all things ride an ATV for a while.  It just wasn't right.  Thank God my Italian Princess was kind and gentle with me and eased me back in.

Tape that sucker up and get back to Westpoint.  We have conquered the westside and now have a 20 mile loop ready for you to ride...No Prickers.

Oh man - Bubba! I told you to stop trying to emulate me on those "no speed" crashes.  While my right hand is in a cast for several months, I can loan you my left hand.  Doc told me I would be down for 3 months but physical therapist is suggesting closer to 6.  I hope your back in the saddle soon. Also makes it easier to work on bikes with two functioning hands.

What's the thoughts on whether Puzzen Nutz is contagious or not?

yes very much so, going to supercross with friends is the most dangerious , as listed in the warning signs,,,oh one thing left out was the best vaccine against the virus is a day of trail making,,especially SINGLETRACK,,also broken bone repair with 0 pain meds,, or drinking coffee made using an old motto-cross sock cooked over a open fire,, i personally use a 1978 red version,,,bv

"drinking coffee made using an old motto-cross sock"

It seems that sometimes the cure is worse than the disease.........

well you can use a fresh clean sock if so inclined,,,butt, know after using a old BOB HANNAH sock  in idaho  joe t, & i rode 12 hours of some of the toughest , rockiest , no rest trails in the world under DANNY REKLUSE, before heading to the showers,,so choose your sock wisely depending on the trail ahead,,,bv
