Thanks for that. Talk about ancient history!  Who'd a thunk it would still be going 20+  years later?  And humorously, the first year attendance in 1998 was 123 riders...me and 122 of my best friends.

I didn't  think it was that low but you are quite probably right. For some reason 248 sticks in my mind. That may have been the second year. Biggest thing I remember the first couple years were the civilians in their robes and slippers coming out of their campers to see that in the world was going on.

Little did any of us know then what it would grow into 20 years into the future.

I was cleaning out my home office recently so that my daughter wouldn't have to do it after I pass and found some stuff from that era that I kept.

Year 1 (1998) was 123 registered  riders, not including family members

Year 2 doubled to 248 (you had that one right)

Year 3 more than doubled again to 597

Year 4 grew again but I don't remember a precise number...about 650-675 I think. And by this time, as I'm sure you remember, it had burgeoned to more of a family ride, with lots more wives, moms, and kids, a few grandparents,  and total attendance would have been about 1,000. I think it was that year that Shane Warren and Alicia Gill got married on Friday afternoon down by the creek.

I had always figured it would peak around 1,000 (riders) which I think happened Year 7 or 8. By then, Tom was running the show, having transitioned to trail master with me beginning in Year 4 and was fully in charge Year 5, and I began to fade into the background.

If I remember #4 was 2001 and we did registration in the BIG pavilion and it was COLD! but the days warmed up.

I do remember their wedding down by the creek.

I have enjoyed every one of the rides I have been involved with and will keep doing registration at them as long as I am able.
